Vegas Family Reunion

We had a great vacation with the entire Rees family last week. We stayed in a gigantic ranch house with a pool and trampoline and the biggest swings. Jason and I forgot to make our pact about taking lots of pictures, so the pickings are slim. Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Wes were so much fun. They were like Navie's other parents. Whenever I couldn't find Navie she was with them or grandpa or Ella.
Making decorations for our house guests (grandpa and grandma and Care and Wes) prior to leaving for Vegas. Such a fun idea, courtesy of Jason...I love him!

Bellagio fountains after a long day at the Lake. The stickers on Navie's face are from our stop to In N Out. Apparently on your face is the only way to wear stickers in Navie's mind.

View of the Hoover Dam from the bridge. Takes your breath away, just a little.

One of my personal favorites!! I finally got to be in two places at once! I have pretty much wanted to do this since I saw the movie "A Walk to Remember." We all had a good time waving to each other from Arizona and Nevada but we were a little short on the dam jokes sadly.

And yes, the whole clan was sporting our Hawaii shirts from Care and Wes that day.

Fireworks, Sprinklers, and Popsicles, Oh My!

We went to see fireworks, right? I love fireworks. I noticed my camera has a fireworks setting, I thought sweet I can get some get pics to remember. Oh no, it took like 5 minutes for the picture to actually take so I got a lot of black sky shots with a dot of color here and there. This was the best firework shot.

Jason and I are just not photogenic people. So we just have to embrace what we capture, the good and the bad. This is waiting for Stadium of Fire fireworks.

Baby Ashley

I love Katelyn's face!

We were babysitting the cousins so we pulled out the sprinkler to make the most of our lawn investment.

They enjoyed drinking from it more than actually running through it.

Here's Navie laying out after washing the car.

What summer would be complete without a pink popsicle?

Ladybug Princess Dress

My first dress sewing project turned out about a million percent better than I thought. Unfortunately I cannot take all the credit for that. Luckily my mom came into town and fixed it up. I must say that I rather enjoyed sewing and I'm going to keep trying. This is Navie wearing her new sunglasses from Texas Roadhouse. We went on Monday night to celebrate Jason's hard work on the GRE.
Cutest pose ever. Grandpa was here and they tried to get her to do this pose but no good. I'm so happy she did it today.

Navie can't take a picture without a princess in hand.

The Green Grass Grows All Around

Don't worry mother nature helped out with a little snow and tons of rain to really draw out the project.
Look what we made. It still sits empty but someday it will have gorgeous plant-life of some kind.
Sorry for the blur. I cannot take pictures. We worked all day Friday to get the yard looking primo for sod. We were pretty happy with the results.
After a sleepless night (well not exactly--Jason and I were as excited as school girls and we couldn't fall asleep) bright and early Saturday morning this beautiful machine showed up.

For those of you that were wondering, yes the sprinklers work.
I was sitting outside this afternoon and this is what I saw. It is so beautifully green.
The new and improved abode. Now to enjoy all summer long!

Locks and locks of Love

I've been wanting to donate my hair to Locks of Love forever and I finally decided I was ready.
Really long, huh? And also not so much of a straight line, sorry.
They cut about 12 inches off and I still had this much left. I wish I could see the finished product of what happens to this hair.
The new look!
I love it! 1) Because it is so different than what I've had for like the last 3 years, 2) because I live in like the windiest city ever and short hair is much more pleasant than ridiculously long hair and 3) it looks good!

Some Recent Tidbits

Remember the pictures and ambitions of re-upholstering the recliner...well here is the final product. It sat in 2 or 3 different rooms of our house in pieces until finally it ended here.
The last time we went to the store, Navie pulled a can of olives off the shelf and put them in the cart. This is not usually what she does. It was hilarious.
We went to the Teddy Bear Tea at the library today. Navie made a Hippo headband.
The gang.

The City Days of Utah have begun. We got a taste of the Springville Rodeo..

And the Eagle Mountain Demolition Derby.
Here's a shot of the action.

A disclaimer: I am no photographer but this is the best I can do so far to capture our family memories.
