AriZoNa and VeGaS

We took our first road trip with Navie. We drove to Arizona for a few days and came back to Utah stopping in Vegas for a day. Navie was a great road tripper. She spent her time in the car reading books, playing with toys, napping, and watching movies. We all had a great time visiting with family and friends. I wish I would have taken more pictures of Navie with her cousins. Here are some highlights from the trip.

Fountains at the Bellagio. Navie kept calling it fireworks. She was scared at first then she wanted to go swimming in the water.

We tried to take some family pictures because we basically have none. We got some okay ones.

See what a sweetie she is, she has her arms wrapped around both our necks!

At a small part of the Grand Canyon.

What a cute Navie face!

Taking a rest after lunch.

Pink hat at M&M world.

We tried some really interesting flavors of Coke products from around the world. Some were incredibly gross. One from Italy, Jason and I had to spit out! YUCK!

Too Embarrassing!!

Navie has shown her more curious side in the last few weeks. One morning while I was taking a shower, Navie was "watching a movie." After my shower I found Navie on the couch with lipstick all over her hands and face. She found a tube of lipsitck and was rubbing it all over her hands and of course putting it on her lips. Although she made a terrible mess of her hands and face, the couch was miraculously spotless. Navie's nightgown suffered a little but all in all she kept the mess to herself. At the moment this happened I was so surprised and upset that I didn't take a picure of her before the bath. I couldn't let anyone see what my "perfect" daughter did. I wish I could take it back now.

About 4 days later, Navie had another episode of curiosity. I was gone for about an hour and left Navie with her daddy at home. Jason was working on rotating two of the tires on the Altima. When I returned home, I found Navie sitting on the floor covered in red permanent marker. She covered every inch of her legs and arms that were not covered by clothing. There was also some on her mouth (lipstick). Navie's baby doll also suffered greatly during this experience. She now looks pretty scary. This was another unfortunate time when I was too embarrassed to take a picture of my beautiful girl turned red. I didn't think it woud be possible to get my clean little cutie back but it only took 2 baths and lots of scrubbing to get the marker off. Again, Navie is quite the mess maker, she was the only thing (besides the doll) covered in marker. The floor, the walls, and her clothes were all clean. In fact at some point in coloring all over herself, she also managed to draw a few pictures on paper!

These are not her only stunts that get me going. Her latest thing is eating the pages in her books. I threatened to take all her books away. I just can't do it though. She loves books so much, she literally eats them.

Still Watching for Grass to Grow

The yard is very much a work in progress.
This is what it currently looks like. Don't worry the sod is actually not in our yard but we are trying to save it to help alleviate weed growth.
Disgusting over-sized hill... gone!

Jason working his magic with the bob-cat. It only took 8.8 hours to make a difference.

This is what the yard looked like at the beginning of August.

See how steep that cliff is...no more.

It was a jungle out there!
