DisNey WoRld!

Don't worry, we broke the camera just days before we left for Disney. All the pictures were taken with Jason's phone. Getting the pics off the camera is quite the chore. This is what I got so far.
Day 1: Hollywood Studios
We had lots of fun our first day. We saw an amazing Beauty and the Beast show to kick things off. We played as shrunken kids at Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. This was super cool. I loved that movie as a kid. We saw a cool car show and played a 3-D video game with Woody and Buzz.

Day 2: Magic Kingdom
After you give up your left arm to park at Disney World for the day, the worker wishes you "Hope you have a magical day." I laughed so hard as I heard this driving in. As I was coming back to my car on the ferry boat at the end of the day, I was telling Jason all about the magic I felt that day. I couldn't believe it, I had been suckered in.
Navie was perfect. She wasn't shy with the princesses. She was so excited that they were actually talking to her. All the excitement was too much to handle, she was fast asleep before we got down main street.

Day 3: Animal Kingdom
I really liked this park. We went on an African Safari and seriously saw giraffes and rhinos like within 10 feet of us with no fences. There were tons of hippos and crocodiles and elephants. Navie also starred in the Lion King show we went to. She was so brave and adorable. It was one of my proudest mother moments. She did exactly what she was supposed to do. Timon personally thanked her for her help and she got a kiss from him. (If I can figure out how to get the video off of Jason's phone, you will get to see it with your own eyes).

Alligator Alley

There is seriously a road here called "Alligator Alley." It's not hard to see why...the alligators are everywhere. We went for a little walk on the board walk and we saw a mommy alligator with like 7 babies sitting on the log. It was rather exciting. They were only like 10 feet away from us. We saw a "strangler vine" on the large tree (pictured above). We saw a bald eagle and lots of other little birds and turtles. There weren't even bugs to eat us either. The weather is gorgeous these days.

Sunny Day Fun!

-Playing in the sand volleyball court making a "sand"man.
-Trip to the pool.
-Our first trip to the beach.

Loves Along the Way

We made a number of lovely pit stops to get here. I apologize now for the blurry pics ahead but it was all I got...

-We stopped at Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, TX (its a real place for those who've heard the country song). Some guy buried Cadillacs on his farm and now people come and spray paint them. Don't let the sunshine deceive you...it was bitter COLD.
-We stayed with my sister, Kristy and her family in Georgia. It was GREAT!! We got to see their new digs and catch up with all the kids.
-We went to the American Girl Doll store in Georgia. My favorite doll growing up. Needless to say...it was a miracle that we walked out without buying something.
-We ate at Steak n Shake...my how we've missed delicious steakburgers and shakes.
-We visited with all of Jason's family in Texas but kicked ourselves after leaving because we took no pictures. We ate a yummy lunch there at Texas Roadhouse with his mom and sister (rather fitting we thought).

From Snowflakes to Sunshine

We hitched up the wagons and headed east. We traveled through a total of 9 states. We woke up Saturday morning to about 4 inches of snow (I briefly panicked) and we finished packing the truck and hit the road. We ran into plenty of rain and snow along the way but all in all we enjoyed the LONG journey together. Navie kept busy with books, princesses, and movies. Jason and I stayed entertained with several books on tape. We love our new place and our new life in sunny Florida!!!

Daddy's Birthday SillyBration

Well blogger has started showing a whole bunch of words and symbols for each of the pictures that I download so I cannot do any more captions under each picture because I have no idea where one picture begins or ends.

But anyway we celebrated Jason's 33rd birthday on Friday. It was our best celebration yet. We started off with a round of mini-golf. Navie was such a good sport, she kept trying until she got it in the hole. She may have picked it up and moved it a few times but it was lots of fun until around hole #14 or so. She started to lose patience with herself but still so fun. After golf, we went to our favorite place Texas Roadhouse. Since Navie's birthday is in December too, Navie sat up in the saddle with Jason. Hopefully I'll get a picture of that up soon. Then on to see the Muppet movie. Jason got 3 free movie passes from work so we thought we'd better use them up before we head out.

Don't they look happy with their cake...not sure what that was about. After the movie, Navie fell asleep on the way home before having cake. Not to worry, she woke up at 4:30 in the morning crying because she didn't have cake. But the crisis was averted and she was back asleep in no time. After lunch the next day we had cake. Yes it was pink and yes Jason had a big piece on his birthday (the night before).

Christmas Fun

What a fun Christmas we had this year. This post includes:

Rudolph car: While at the good old Dollar Store one day, Jason sees this little reindeer car kit. We decide for $1, it'll be fun. After driving around for about 3 days with our new embellishments, we lose both antlers within minutes of each other. Navie starts balling in the back seat. Jason and I were pretty set on not buying another set but lets face it, we were actually pretty sad about losing them too. So back to the Dollar Store to get more. Don't worry we learned our lesson. We put the antlers on the back windows and LOCKED them. This ensured that we had to unlock the window before rolling it down. It worked. We still got 'em.

I finished the tree skirt 3 days before Christmas this year (I started it about a month after Christmas last year). Finishing a project is such a great feeling!

Opening presents and trying on new dress ups.

The countdown is coming to an end. Once this paper chain is gone, then Jason will not have to work any more shifts as an RN! Only 4 1/2 shifts to go!!
