It's Autumn Time

We Pricketts have been out and about enjoying this lovely fall weather. Here is a pretty in depth look at what we've been up to.
I was finishing a book a few weeks ago and Navie grabbed a few books of her own to join me.

We went to check out some gardens in Orem the other day and Navie was walking just like daddy. I love it when she mimics her daddy.
Gotta get some pics with the railroad tracks in the fall. So we did.

Someday we'll have some good family pics taken but for now here we are.

The whole family took a turn to be buried in the corn this year. Don't worry we've already been to pumpkin patch out in front of our house 3 times this October.

Navie's likes the little donkeys best. I, on the other hand love the HUGE pig laying down behind her.
Navie was helping while I folded laundry.
Not to worry...One week after planting our bright, beautiful mums, this is what mother nature brings to our front door. Here's hoping they'll bloom again next year.

September Field Trip

Our first joy school field trip was on Wednesday. We went to the Red Barn in Santaquin. It is just that a Red Barn with apple, peach, and nectarines. They also have a pumpkin patch. We took a little wagon ride to the pumpkins.
Don't worry Navie is not cozying up to her little boy crush, she is "holding" one of the girls' little brothers. I think its time for a sibling.

Loving the bumpy wagon ride.
We went out to the patch and walked through a maze and took pictures.
After the wagon ride back to the barn we got to have an apple cinnamon doughnut. Very Yummy! And each little one got a coloring book. It was lots of fun.

Ta Da!

About 18 months later, the yard is done! Jason and I are really rather pleased with the result.

We planted mums and some type of boxwood. In case you were unaware, mum is short for chrysanthemum. This made them all the more appealing to me because of the adorable picture book by Kevin Henkes titled "Chrysanthemum."
I tried something a little more artistic. I just may be getting the hang of this camera.
Keep your fingers crossed that they survive the winter.

JoySchool

Navie had her first day of joy school on Tuesday. She looked so grown up that day. She got to take a show and tell. All the girls have the same purple shirt to wear too. I'm really excited about joy school. All my favorite neighbors working together to "teach" our little gals.

This is her new favorite picture pose.
We got her a swing. We swing every day now and usually its with George or a princess.
This was a cute hair-do for church. I just lover her long, curly hair.

Labor Day

We had such a fun Labor Day weekend. On Saturday we went to Cabela's to look at the fish and other animals and then we went for a little walk at Cascade Falls. Navie carried the camel back for us.

Doesn't this look like a painting? It was totally for real. I guess this is a scene that inspires painters.

Navie had to stop and look at every sign and ask what it was. It was usually no problem to explain except when there were pictures about the underground rocks and reasoning why the spring was flowing. She is getting so curious these days.
Here's the fam!
Most people celebrate Labor Day on Monday and the days before but we Pricketts like to do things a little differently. On Tuesday afternoon, we headed into Payson canyon and camped near Payson lakes.
We had the good old store bought s'mores and hot chocolate. Yummy camp-out. Navie trying to take pictures again. She is getting better.
I love this picture. Two happy campers!!
And of course the princesses had to come along.
We found a great place to camp. It was a great open space but tucked inside really tall pine trees. We loved it.
It is pretty cool that Navie "uses" the camera now. She can take pictures of me and my man. She did pretty alright on this one. If I wouldn't have told you it was done by her you wouldn't have even known this picture was taken by a 3 year old.

MOAB!

I meant to include this in the last post but forgot.
We rented a jeep in Moab a few weekends ago. This picture does not do this rock justice. It felt like we were going straight down. It must have leveled out a little by this point.
Our friend, Stephen came with us. Thank goodness because between the two boys, I did not do much driving. I can't handle the idea of not being able to see where I am going. We had a great time! Plus Jason no longer feels a need to replace the jeep anytime soon.

Camping and S'more Great Stuff

Looks like you are going to get the S'more great stuff first. I have yet to figure this picture order thing out. Here is Navie riding the horse at Wal-Mart. She is a little spoiled at times. But who can resist when she's so stinkin' cute?!
The delicious grilled shrimp dinner we enjoyed last night. Yum!
A new skirt for Navie! So simple and cute. My mom came into town and all us girls sat down and did some sewing. It was great. Not the best quality picture but you get the idea.
I tried to straighten Navie's hair. It was quite the undertaking. This girl has hair that wants to curl.

I made this fantastic foccacia bread. It has become a new staple at our house.
Navie took some pictures for us.

We made marshmallows and graham crackers from scratch for S'mores. Navie liked the marshmallows.

Enjoying the fruits of his labors.
Navie was so excited to sleep in the tent. (PS: The tent is in our backyard for this particular camp out.) This is a picture of her reading to me.
