Father's Day in Utah

Well we kinda blew it in the sense of taking pictures on this weekend trip but here's a recap. We pretty much made all of Jason's dreams come true plus a few of my own. Friday night we visited our lovely friends in Springville and went camping in the mountains with Josh and Jennie and Jennie's parentals. It was lovely. We ate hot dogs/brats and roasted marshmallows over the fire. We did not freeze because we slept safely inside the pop-up tent trailer. The next morning we ate breakfast and headed on to the next adventure. (This is a view of the mountains that we camped in).
Day 2- We spent the afternoon with my brothers in Orem. We had a delightful lunch and Navie got a giant splinter in her foot playing on the swing set. I don't know that I remember her ever freaking out like this. I think she was completely exhausted. After about 5 minutes of absolute screaming, the splinter was removed and Navie took a nap! I almost couldn't believe it. Then we drove up to West Jordan and saw my great friend Alisa and met her sweet new baby. (Seriously can't believe I didn't take any pictures). We had a lovely time and Navie practiced shooting baskets pretty much all night. When we got back to Orem we were just in time for fireworks from Summerfest. So we climbed up on the roof to watch.
Day 3: We had a pancake breakfast with eggs courtesy of Jason and Lissa. Yes, I'm a horrible wife...Jason helped cook breakfast on Father's Day. I was a little off this year, sorry sweetie. Then off to church and then to visit Stitcher (one of Jason's best friends). Dream come true #2. We set off with guns in the trunk and drove to the Great Salt Lake.
Navie even had a chance to shoot the BB gun. Jason said this was his best Father's Day ever. Apparently I need to let him plan his own celebrations from now on. Then it was back to Orem to video chat with my family. Day 4: We packed up and went back to Florida. It was hard to say goodbye to Navie but luckily she seems to handle it like a champ. Jason and I finally got home a little after midnight. We were supposed to get home about 3 hours earlier but there were some weather issues. We were glad we made it home safe.
